I’ve never been to therapy…what is it like?
Everybody’s therapy experience is different, but I strive to make it a great experience for everyone. Normally we discuss why you want to come to therapy, then set goals, and work on tools to help you reach those goals.

What is the first session like?
The first session differs for the reason you are coming.
If you are coming for yourself the first session will last 60 minutes. We will begin with paperwork with general information about yourself. You will also receive information regarding HIPPA laws and my policies as a clinician. Afterwards, I will spend time asking you questions about yourself, why you are wanting therapy, and what you hope to gain from therapy.
If you are coming for your child the first session will last 60 minutes without your child. I like to sit down with you and talk about your child before they come to therapy. You will also begin with paperwork with general information about your child. You will also receive information regarding HIPPA laws and my policies as a clinician. Afterwards, I will spend time asking you questions about your child, why you want therapy for them, and what are you hope to gain from therapy for your child.
What if I want to bring someone with me to therapy?
Fantastic! I do not believe that we were put on Earth to go through life by ourselves! If you would like to bring a family member, spouse, friend, or coworker to therapy, please bring them.
